EngineSens Motorsensor developed engine intake air and exhaust gas temperature sensor „M-TS“ based on PRTD Pt200 up to 750°C and Pt1000 up to 400°C

Located in southern Germany the Viernheim-based company developed the „M-TS“ - a universal temperature probe based on PRTD. „We intended to combine proven technologies with advanced manufacturing processes“, said the managing director S. Carstens. „In the automotive industry mainly used NTC sensor elements are suitable only up to 300°C. Our product covers the extended temperature range from -40°C to +750°C. So the decision was drawn in favor of PRTD, making the application independent from cable and contact resistances due to the high basic resistance of the sensing element“ The sensor can be used universally to measure air temperature in the intake system after turbocharger, and on the exhaust side to monitor SCR systems for NOx removal and also for exhaust gas recirculation systems.


	Based on a proven mineral insulated thermometer, the M-TS is assembled with flexible production methods in a support sleeve and is then sealed. Those methods enable EngineSens to customize

	smaller requirements to individual needs and still match demanding cost targets. It is fixed by means of male or female nuts. This eliminates the hassle of turning the sensor during installation. Cable lengths, immersion depths, connector and mounting options are customized.
